The interest to ethnic music is extraordinary high all over
the world and the obvious example of this is the ever-growing number of
Russian musicians, experimenting in this field of music - both basing
on the Russian folklore and the traditional music of other countries.
European musicians also search the East for their creativity - from Balkan
to India and China. Thus, this CD united the musicians from Russia, Ireland,
Madagascar, and Great Britain. So, "Celtomania" answers the general tendency
of growing interest in national eastern and western cultures. We hope,
that all Celtic folk fans will find something interesting for them on
this CD, as it presents the wide spectrum of styles, which form "Celtic
music " - from romantic ballads and national melodies performed in a traditional
key to experiments with electronic sounding. In conclusion, a small NB
for those who keep in touch with the evolution of this music in Russia:
the compositions, presented by "Telenn Gwad" and " Si Mhor ", are real
rarities, as they were recorded by the "original staff" of these groups,
as they looked in 1998.
